At Edge Health, we believe that data and analytics have the potential to transform decision making, policy, quality and efficiency within the NHS. We are a small analytics firm based in London, delivering consultancy services and developing data products to help unlock this potential for our clients.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our quickly growing team. This role is suitable for anyone who is graduating from university in 2022, or with up to one year of professional experience. Key skills and competencies we are looking for include:
Passion for working in healthcare, and preferably some experience of having done so;
Technical skills and experience, such as statistics, coding, data science and modelling;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, across a diverse range of areas;
Enthusiasm for working closely with our clients and partner organisations as well as with other members of the Edge team.
Edge Health is a small analytics firm of economists and data scientists with backgrounds in economics, statistics, epidemiology, policy, management consulting and healthcare. We have worked for many years with NHS hospitals and policymakers, and are familiar with their challenges. We use new and diverse new technologies centred around use of data to solve these issues at scale.
Since our formation in April 2017, we have grown rapidly and worked with more than 40 NHS organisations, including trusts, commissioners and regulators.
We are a client-facing organisation that sees the value in being close to the challenges we are helping to solve. We spend time working alongside our clients and enjoy seeing the direct impact of our work on patients and people who work in the NHS. Read more about some of the past projects here.
We also have a passion for making our analysis accessible. We have used our technical capabilities to lead in the analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic, with our work reported on national and international networks. We also publish our analysis, where possible. Check out our blog here.

Applying technical & industry expertise: Applying modelling and/or healthcare experience to deliver high-quality outputs for our clients;
Innovation: Proactively learning from past projects and experiences to build and develop new propositions for use within the health sector;
Business development: Supporting the wider growth of Edge, through development of marketing material and team training and development.
Desired skills & experience
We greatly value diversity and would welcome applicants from a range of academic and professional backgrounds. Our preferred candidate would have some or all of the following skills and experiences:
Technical skills in the field of data analytics, economic modelling, or statistics, developed either through academia or professional experience;
Be highly motivated, self-driven and versatile, and excited to work within a small and growing start-up;
Up to one year of professional experience, working in a healthcare, consulting, research, modelling, product or related setting;
Have the ability to engage effectively and enjoyably with a range of people, and to communicate impactfully the findings and implications of their work;
Have a knowledge of coding in SQL and preferably R or similar statistical languages, or a willingness and ability to learn how to do so;
Have experience of delivering projects and outputs to tight timescales and to a high quality;
Take proactive responsibility for personal development, and the development of individuals and teams around them.
