We developed an interactive demand and capacity model for a Cancer Alliance, which allows for the easy modelling and comparison of different supply scenarios for linear accelerator capacity in the region.
The tool allows the user to model cancer site-specific treatment pathways, underlying demand growth, working patterns for the linear accelerator machines and the supply of both public and private capacity. Each scenario is then appraised against a range of criteria including travel time, capacity utilisation, accessibility and co-location with other services. The final tool is hosted online as an interactive web application.
Can Plan is our interactive tool for mapping the incidence of cancer and the availability of treatment sites. By combining this data with geospatial analytics, Can Plan provides all of the analytics required to develop and assess evidence based plans for future supply options.
