Edge Health Wins HSJ Award for Data Integration Project of the Year 2025!

We are immensely proud to announce that Edge Health has been officially named as the winner of ta Integration Project of the Year with our Summary Paediatric Indicator Table (SPaedIT) tool at the HSJ Awards 2025, in recognition of an outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.

Edge Health co-developed SPaedIT with the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme and CYP Transformation Team, under the clinical leadership of Professor Simon Kenny, to provide much needed paediatric-specific insights to elective recovery.

Recognition of a True Partnership at the HSJ Awards 2025

SPaedIT brings together eight unique sources of data and more than 40 metrics about paediatric surgery across England, covering eight key surgical paediatric specialties. It offers actionable insights on performance, bottlenecks and challenges and intel on where to focus efforts, to make a difference for elective paediatric services.

It is great to see all the commitment and passion of the team behind it go recognised, and most of all that our work has real impact on improving the care of children and young people across the country.

Maria Starovoitova, Senior Consultant at Edge who has been leading the work on SPaedIT for the past two years, reflects:

This award means so much because it recognises a truly collaborative effort across multiple organisations, all united by a shared goal: to improve care for children and young people, and to help them get the treatment they need, faster. SPaedIT has shown just how powerful data can be in bringing together healthcare leaders from across clinical, operational, strategic, and analytical backgrounds—sparking conversations that lead to real, visible change on the ground.

I’m incredibly grateful to the amazing team that made this possible. I’m in awe of the passion, expertise, and dedication they’ve poured into shaping SPaedIT into the tool it is today. My special thanks go to our colleagues at NHS England (Getting It Right First Time programme and the CYP Transformation programme), our brilliant team at Edge, and especially to the users of SPaedIT—who are pioneering a more data-driven, evidence-based approach to improving patient care every single day.
