About Me

Ed has over 20 years experience supporting clients in the healthcare and life science sectors. He specialises in using economics and data analytics to help operational and clinical teams make evidence-based decisions and improve their effectiveness

Ed’s experience covers a range of areas including resource allocation, economic regulation, healthcare commissioning, and provider economics. He has worked on national programmes, including the Getting It Right First Time programme and the National Consultant Information Programme, and has advised NHS Improvement on matters related to pricing and ensuring continuity of service for NHS trusts.

Ed has applied this experience when supporting hospitals and healthcare commissioners in their strategic and operational decision-making. Ed also often works alongside healthcare providers in their interactions with regulators, for example when making the case for additional investment to maintain services.

Ed began his career in the Department of Health, where he advised on the formulae used to allocate resources for hospital and community health services, personal social services, and adjustments to account for geographical differences in the cost of delivering health services.
